- Is VacayOps cheaper than OwnerRez?
- Not for the PMS alone. OwnerRez publishes a sliding scale — $40/month for the first property, then a sliding scale from $15 down to $2 per property at 200+ — with premium features such as owner statements priced on top. VacayOps is $29/property/month and includes trust accounting, field operations, the CRM and owner statements. If you only need the PMS and channels, OwnerRez costs less; VacayOps is for managers who would otherwise add trust accounting, a cleaning app and a phone system alongside it.
- Does OwnerRez have trust accounting?
- OwnerRez’s support docs say its owner statements follow a trust/escrow model, and that it does “not yet have a real trust accounting module, end-to-end”; it lists accounting integrations such as VRPlatform. In VacayOps, trust accounting is part of the Full Platform, with a monthly three-way reconciliation and sign-off. Which setup your state or license calls for is a question for your broker or accountant.
- What do I export from OwnerRez?
- The Bookings export (clear every filter first, or it holds only the bookings on screen), plus the Payments Detail, Line Items and Taxes reports for the money. For opening balances, add your trial balance and owner balances as of the last day before switch-over — the Owner Remittance Detail report shows what was paid to each owner. - Do saved guest cards come across?
- No. Saved cards never export from any PMS. Any balance due after switch-over is collected afresh through your own Stripe or Slim CD account.
- Can my cleaners and maintenance crew use VacayOps?
- Yes — every user is included. Crews get their schedule, checklists, inspections and photo capture on their phones. The VacayOps app for field teams is on Google Play for Android. The iPhone app is coming soon; until then, crews and managers use the browser and add it to the home screen.
- Who sends owner payouts?
- You do, on both systems. OwnerRez says it “is not able to actually move any money anywhere”. VacayOps records and reconciles the money in your own bank and processor accounts. It never holds or moves funds. You send payouts from your own bank and VacayOps records each one against the owner’s statement.
