VRPlatform Alternative

VRTrust is accounting on top of your PMS. VacayOps is the PMS, with trust accounting in the same books.

VRTrust, by VRPlatform, is trust accounting software that connects to the PMS you already run. VacayOps is the PMS, operations and accounting in one system, with trust accounting included in the Full Platform at $29/property/month. Here is how they compare, row by row, from VRPlatform’s own pages as of 23 October 2026.

Who Each Is For

Keep your PMS, or bring everything into one system

The two products answer different questions. VRTrust adds trust accounting to the PMS you have. VacayOps replaces the PMS and keeps the trust books on the same reservations and owner statements.

  • Keeping your current PMS and want trust accounting on top? VRTrust is built for that — it lists 15 PMS integrations, including Guesty, Hostaway, Hostfully, Lodgify and OwnerRez.
  • Want the PMS, field operations and the books in one system? VacayOps trust accounting runs on the VacayOps PMS, so moving your reservations comes first. Switching is built in — a self-guided Migration Center, with a specialist reviewing your move.
  • Trust accounting is part of the VacayOps Full Platform — there is no separate accounting subscription.

What VacayOps brings to trust accounting

Features of VacayOps itself — the reasons to keep the trust books in the same system as the bookings.

One set of data

The PMS, field operations and accounting share the same reservations and owner statements — nothing syncs between systems.

Adjustment statements

A booking that changes after a month is issued becomes “Adjustment 1” for the difference. The issued statement is never rewritten.

Plain-language checks

Shortfalls, a balance below zero, money without an owner and bank lines left unmatched, explained in plain words; overrides recorded.

Reconciliation PDF

The worksheet, schedules by property and by owner, and sign-off lines — marked DRAFT until signed.

Included in the subscription

Trust accounting, owner statements, accountant access and the 1099 files are part of the Full Platform at $29/property/month.

Accounting on top of a PMS, or the PMS with accounting in it

If you only want trust accounting and plan to keep your PMS, VRTrust is the fit. If you would replace your PMS anyway, VacayOps puts the PMS, operations and trust accounting on one bill.

VRTrust

From $375/month

From $375/month for up to 25 properties, with volume-tier discounts. The pricing calculator shows 25 listings $375/mo, 50 listings $625/mo, 100 listings $1,075/mo. Priced as accounting on top of the PMS you keep paying for — that PMS is not included.

100 properties = $1,075/mo for VRTrust, plus your PMS.

VacayOps Full Platform

$29/property/mo

The PMS, channels, guest messaging, field operations, owner statements and trust accounting — unlimited users. Trust accounting is not an add-on.

100 properties = $2,900/mo, PMS and operations included.

VRTrust prices from vrplatform.app (homepage and pricing calculator), as of 23 October 2026; the calculator also shows $375/month at 10 listings — the minimum. There, 1099 e-filing is an add-on ($12.50 per e-file (US only)) and ACH payouts need a Ramp subscription. Current VacayOps pricing at vacayops.com/pricing.

Your money stays in your bank

VacayOps records and reconciles the money in your own bank and processor accounts. It never holds or moves funds. You pay owners from your own bank, and VacayOps records each payout against the owner's balance.

Trust rules come from your state and your license. VacayOps gives you and your accountant or broker the records, checks and signed reconciliations to work from; meeting those rules and making your filings stay with you.

VRTrust vs VacayOps: questions

Can I use VacayOps trust accounting with my current PMS?
No. VacayOps trust accounting runs on reservations in the VacayOps PMS — that is what lets the bookings, the owner statements and the trust books share one set of data. Switching is built in — a self-guided Migration Center, with a specialist reviewing your move. If you want to keep your current PMS and add trust accounting on top, a separate tool such as VRTrust is built for that.
Does VacayOps pay owners?
No. VacayOps records and reconciles the money in your own bank and processor accounts. It never holds or moves funds. You send owner payouts from your own bank, and VacayOps records each one against the owner’s balance. VRTrust lists ACH owner and vendor payouts through Ramp, which needs a Ramp account — if you want the software to send payments, that is a real difference.
Will VacayOps e-file our 1099s?
No. VacayOps produces 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC rents as CSV files laid out for the IRS IRIS portal, and you or your accountant upload them. VRTrust lists 1099 e-filing as an add-on — $12.50 per e-file (US only).
Can we bring our history across?
Yes — when you switch, VacayOps brings your owner balances across and posts an opening trial balance, so the first statement and the books start from the right numbers. VRTrust’s documentation also describes importing historical statements and historical journal entries.
